Los Alamos Reports and Publications DVD #2 (of 2) Compiled from declassified documents by: Gregory Walker trinatomic@earthlink.net Trinity Atomic Web Site -- Carey Sublette The Nuclear Weapon Archive -- This DVD contains a collection of technical reports and other publications from Los Alamos National Laboratory. The file index.html contains a listing of report numbers and titles, with links to the actual Adobe Acrobat PDF document files and in many cases full bibliographic information. On Windows systems, index.html should automatically be displayed in the web browser when the DVD is inserted. If it is not displayed, then start your favorite web browser and open the index.html file. In order to view the Adobe Acrobat PDF document files, you will need to get the free Acrobat PDF viewer from: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html The catalog.txt file is a tab-delimited listing of the documents on this DVD. It contains six "columns" of data: 1. The document ID number (or PATENT if it is a patent). 2. The title. 3. The size of the PDF file. 4. The original URL of the document on the LANL web site (not usable at the time of this writing). 5. The document ID in potentially longer form. 6. The relative path to the PDF document file. The catalogs for other DVDs in this set are included and named catalog_N.txt where N is the number of the other DVDs. The catalog.txt file is useful for loading into databases or other scripting applications. The index.html file was created from catalog.txt by a simple script. UNIX users beware that catalog.txt is in MSDOS text format (as is this readme.txt), which can confuse many scripting engines. To change it to UNIX text format, enter the following command: tr -d '\r' < catalog.txt > catalog_unix.txt The file index.in is the manually created header which is copied by the script to create the beginning of the index.html file.
